Background

After studying for a MSc in International Finance at LSE and training as an accountant with EY, Vijay began his investment management career in the mid-90s.

Vijay has enjoyed a rich variety of working experiences within the global asset management industry. He has worked as a sell-side broker, a buy-side equity analyst, a portfolio manager, Head of Investment as well as a Chief Financial Officer. He has been fortunate enough to work in different countries and continents and sampled a wide variety of corporate cultures.

Vijay has experienced several significant financial crises, including the Asia currency crisis (1997), the Dot-com bubble (2002), and the Global Financial Crisis (2008) to name but a few. He also has experience working as a consultant in financial regulation and risk management.

This rich, varied, hands-on, practical financial industry experience and knowledge provides a unique insight, and Vijay incorporates this into his teaching and mentoring as a Senior Lecturer at ARU.
