Dr Safia Kanwal is a Lecturer in Computing at Anglia Ruskin University, Peterborough, specialising in Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models. Her research focuses on developing practical AI solutions for real-world applications, with interests in information extraction, recommendation systems and trustworthy AI.

Her research has included legal AI, electoral spending analysis, clinical dialogue processing and Urdu language computations. She has also worked in industry as an NLP engineer, applying machine learning and AI technologies to practical applications.
