Richie completed a BA in Politics and Social Policy at the University of Brighton in 2012. He later studied at Birkbeck, University of London, completing a Graduate Certificate in History in 2019 and an MA in Contemporary History and Politics in 2022.

Background

He began his PhD in April 2025 on a part-time basis alongside professional services work in higher education. His research explores the relationship between the British press and Harold Wilson’s Labour Party in the 1960s, under the working title ‘An Almost Totally Hostile Press: The Relationship between Fleet Street and Harold Wilson’s Labour Party, 1963–1970’.
