Background

I started as a contractor’s quantity surveyor, with house builders, specialist subcontractors and civil engineering infrastructure firms. I worked from Norfolk to Bristol and from South London to Glasgow in a wide variety of contracting situations.

In 2013, I switched to further education, teaching students on City & Guilds and BTEC courses, from levels 1 to 5 (HND). The many and various units included some I had not worked with specifically whilst in industry, expanding my knowledge. I joined ARU Peterborough in 2022, in time for opening day, and am one of the main staff in the construction programmes.
