Dr Oluwabusayo Wuraola is a Lecturer in Law at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford. She is a member of the Centre for Access to Justice and Inclusion at Anglia Ruskin University and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom. She is also a knowledge expert member of the United Nations Harmony with Nature Network. Oluwabusayo specialises in International Environmental Law, Rights of Nature, and Earth Jurisprudence.

Background

Oluwabusayo has a PhD degree in Law from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. Her thesis focused mainly on the “Representation of Ecosystems as Legal Persons”. Her interest in International Environmental Law and the protection of ecosystems started during her master's in law study at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

Oluwabusayo was called to the Nigerian Bar and became a Barrister and Solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in February 2012. In the same year, she represented the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria as a State Counsel on land matters at the Legal Services Secretariat, Federal Capital Development Authority, Abuja, Nigeria.

Oluwabusayo has over ten years of teaching and research experience in law. She engages in research on different aspects of law including Environmental Law, Earth Jurisprudence, Rights of Nature, Land Law, Family Law, Customary Law, and Legal Systems, and has publications in these areas.
