Person centred learning is at the core of her practice and undergraduate students see how this is applied to Early Years practice and care. She has a passion for inclusive education and strongly believes equitable practices should be integrated into work with all children.
Olivia has worked in and with childminders, nurseries, primary schools and children centres, in her role as an Early Years specialist teacher and as part of the Suffolk County Council advisory service. Over her years working in higher education, she has supported and observed many students in their varied placement settings. Oliva finds it so rewarding to hear from graduates how a passion for Early Childhood has led them to careers in: education, social work and speech and language therapy (to name a few).
Olivia teaches on the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies and the Foundation Degree Early Years and Education, along with supervising undergraduates and postgraduates with their final year major projects. Olivia provides support to students throughout their studies.
