Nancy is a fulltime PhD candidate in Creative Writing. Her thesis comprises a collection of short fiction with an accompanying critical commentary on eco-anxiety in the twenty-first century short story.

Background

Nancy holds a BA (Hons) in Literary Studies, an MA in English, and an MA in Creative Writing. She is a PhD candidate in Creative Writing. Nancy has two decades of experience in journalism and corporate communications, and a further 10 years in the charity sector working with marginalized communities. She is the founder of Root & Word, a small start-up business delivering nature-based workshops, retreats, and literary “read-aways” designed to support wellbeing, encourage reflective practice, and foster meaningful connections with the natural world.
