Madeleine is a social researcher with an interdisciplinary background that combines business, environment, and geography studies. She joined GSI in May 2024 as Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the EU-funded PUSH-IT project.

Madeleine is an interdisciplinary social researcher with experience in utilising quantitative and qualitative methods. Her PhD in Geographies of Energy Transitions and Justice at the University of Plymouth focused on exploring the underlying reasons for support/opposition towards shale-gas fracking in English host communities through an integrated approach that combined perceptions of risks and benefits, justice, place, and broader worldviews. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration and a MSc in Sustainable Environmental Management. Her MSc dissertation focused on policy learning and international carbon markets.
Before joining the GSI, she was a Research Associate for the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformation, at the University of Bath (Psychology Department). Prior to that, she held other research assistant and project administration positions within the academic and industry sectors. Based on her teaching and research experience, Madeleine also has a Visiting Specialist position at the University of Plymouth (School of Geography, Environment, and Earth Sciences).
