Katie is a Lecturer in Veterinary Physiotherapy with a strong passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation of veterinary physiotherapists. She teaches across both canine and equine subject areas, including Introduction to Veterinary Physiotherapy, Manual Therapies, Remedial Exercise and Pathophysiology of Injury and Disease. Katie is dedicated to creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences to bring theory to life and enhance student understanding. Katies enthusiasm for student engagement has also led her to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Katie has had a keen interest for sports, veterinary studies, and the way the body works for many years. Having this interest Katie wanted to investigate these topics within education. This led Katie to start her studies in Veterinary Physiotherapy. In 2019 she graduated from Writtle University with an IMSc. Katie has a passion for teaching and helping others. She also works as an external examiner on the MSc programme at The University of Nottingham, whilst working full time teaching at ARU Writtle. Katie has a keen interest in working with heavy horses through the Shire Horse Society, biomechanics, and orthopaedic rehabilitation and utilises this through her own business.
