Professor Kamil Omoteso

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education)

Professor Kamil Omoteso is our Deputy Vice Chancellor for Education, responsible for strengthening ARU's commitment to excellence in education and inclusivity.

Background

With a background in accounting and governance – including professional experience in accounting and auditing roles in the public and private sectors – Kamil began his academic career at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2001.

From 2003–2024, Kamil held academic positions at De Montfort University, Leicester; Coventry University; and the University of Derby. He also served on the Council of the Chartered Association of Business Schools from 2019–2024, and completed several senior leadership courses in the UK, Canada, and the US, including programmes at Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Kamil joined ARU in 2024 from the University of Derby, where his leadership in fostering an inclusive culture led to the acquisition of significant charter-marks, improved EDI statistics, and enhanced satisfaction among students and staff in the areas of inclusion and belonging.

Kamil continues to contribute to the academic community through his research and scholarship.
