Jade is an experienced teacher with expertise in Key Stage Two, primary English and Drama, curriculum design and mentoring trainee teachers. She is a Senior Lecturer Practitioner, working part-time with ARU, teaching on the BEd Primary Education with QTS course and working part-time as a class teacher in a primary school in Norfolk.
Jade has over a decade of experience in education, working across primary schools, teacher training and adult education. She has been an English and Drama Subject Lead, developed and led whole-school literacy reforms and mentored trainee teachers and undergraduate students. Alongside her school leadership, she has contributed to curriculum development and supported schools to embed inclusive practice.
She holds a Master's degree in Education Practice and Research and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education at the University of East Anglia, where her research explores resilience in education through Dialogical Poetic Inquiry. She has also worked in prison education, creating peer mentoring programmes to widen participation and support learner engagement beyond mainstream classrooms.
Jade’s research explores resilience and writing pedagogy examined through arts-based and participatory methodologies. Her doctoral study develops Dialogical Poetic Inquiry to explore how teachers and children conceptualise resilience, paying attention to metaphor, narrative and collaborative meaning-making, combining creative practice with reflexive analysis. She is also interested in inclusive curriculum design and how creative methodologies can support diverse learners’ voices.
Alongside this, Jade is committed to supporting teacher development and mentoring, drawing on her experience as an English and Drama subject lead to guide beginning teachers. Her work sits at the intersection of creative practice, education and social justice.
