Gemma is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon with an interest in minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery, with a career long interest in education at the post and undergraduate level.

Gemma was a site investigator for the National Small Bowel Obstruction audit and Emergency Laparotomy and Frailty Audit and has supervised a thesis project for one student for the Anglia Ruskin University Masters course in minimally invasive surgery.
