Background

Deepak graduated with a degree in Medicine alongside undertaking his intercalated BSc (Hons) in Medical Education. Long before this, he had realised that a career in higher education was something that he wanted to pursue, but this gave him a formal qualification. He was awarded The Association of the Study of Medicine Education (ASME) national first prize for a presentation on his dissertation.

Since then, he has continually worked to incorporate teaching into his clinical work. He also works with Mid and South Essex Health and Care Partnership as a Macmillan GP and Primary Care Cancer Lead.
