Prof. Oloke is an experienced Higher Education Senior Leader, Researcher, Engineering and Project Management Consultant. He is also a Principal Fellow of Advance HE (PFHEA) and Chartered Engineer and Chartered Construction Manager being Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB).

Background

David Joined ARU in August 2025. He had served as Professor of Civil Engineering and Chief Academic Officer at the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) - leading the Academic and Student support teams of the university in course portfolio refresh and expansion and overall student experience.

Prior to NMITE, David was Head of Technical Education and Apprenticeships at the University of Brighton with strategic oversight of the University’s apprenticeship programmes. David has conducted research and published widely and has worked for University of Wolverhampton, Barneveld Consultants and Bureau Veritas as Senior Consultant and Principal Consultant respectively.

Research and PhD Sponsorship funds – Over £1m secured from the Royal Society, Association of Commonwealth Universities, Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, EU Smart Concept Funds, ERASMUS, UKRI, Office for Students, NDDC Doctoral Fellowships, TETFund Doctoral Fellowships, Abu Dhabi Police Force and several others funding various R&D initiatives and over 25 PhD candidates to completion.

Consultancy and Knowledge Exchange – Over £300m till date supporting projects relating to New Builds, Alteration and Refurbishment of Buildings, Infrastructure Development, Housing Schemes, and other Sustainable Development Project Initiatives.
