Catherine qualified as a physiotherapist in 2000. She led the in-patient medical physiotherapy team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital before joining the Cambridge Breathlessness Intervention Service in 2009. She specialises in non-pharmacological chronic breathlessness management, including lecturing and running workshops for healthcare professionals.

Catherine has a career long interest in breathing pattern disorder and its management. She hopes her study using interpretive phenomenological analysis to explore the lived experience of breathing pattern disorder will improve how breathing pattern disorder is presented and explained to patients, which has the potential to improve diagnosis acceptance and treatment compliance.
