Arooj teaches user experience design, with specialist areas in interaction design, usability and web solutions. Her research interests include semantic data technologies, artificial intelligence and user interfaces.

Background

Arooj graduated with a BSc degree in Computer Science and went on to be a software developer in Java, particularly working on web services.

Being interested in web technologies, she changed her job role as a Senior Web Developer with a dual responsibility to document user requirements and liaise with customers. She has more than ten years of IT industry experience, specialising in PHP, databases, APIs, web services, mobile applications and user experience design.

After this she moved into academia, initially teaching Software Design and Implementation and Computer Systems and more recently Interaction Design and Usability, User Experience and Advanced Web Solutions.
