Dr Anne Wambui Mumbi holds a PhD in environmental engineering and another in environmental economics and Management with interdisciplinary expertise spanning sustainability, agri-food systems, environmental policy, agri-tech, SDGs and social science. She is an experienced lecturer and researcher with international academic experience across the UK, Europe, Asia, and Africa. She also holds an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr Anne Wambui Mumbi joined UK higher education in 2023 as an adjunct lecturer at Harper Adams University and was also involved with the Pasture to plate project funded by BBSRC during her time there. Prior to this, she held academic and research appointments in Japan and China, including at Kochi University of Technology and Tongji University, where she taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses and co-supervised postgraduate research.
Her academic career has developed at the intersection of agri-food systems, food security, economics, and social science, with a strong focus on sustainability, environmental policy, and agri-food systems. She has contributed to international research projects, published extensively in high-impact journals, and regularly presents at international conferences. Her work is grounded in applied, interdisciplinary research with policy and societal relevance.
