Amy is an experienced primary school teacher with extensive experience teaching Key Stage 1 and across Key Stage 2 in a range of schools. Amy has a particular interest in Special Educational Needs and holds the National Award for SEN Coordination; she has worked as a qualified SENDCO and has a strong commitment to inclusive education. Amy is a Senior Lecturer Practitioner working part-time with ARU delivering the BEd Primary Education with QTS course, as well as continuing to support children through tutoring, providing personalised learning opportunities to build confidence and achieve success.

Background

Amy began her teaching career in 2018 after completing School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT). She has taught both Key Stage 1 and across Key Stage 2. Throughout her teaching career, she has led History in two schools, developing her interest in curriculum design and subject leadership.

In her third year of teaching, Amy undertook the National Award for SEN Coordination and moved to her second primary school to take up the role of SENDCo. In this position, she worked closely with pupils, families and colleagues to develop inclusive practices for all.

Alongside her classroom teaching responsibilities, Amy has mentored and supported trainee teachers to become reflective and successful practitioners.
