Dr Aashish Gupta is an associate lecturer and Medicine lead for year 5 at ARU. Alongside his work at ARU, Dr Aashish is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in Paediatric Rheumatology and Neonatal Medicine. He currently serves as a paediatric consultant at Basildon University Hospital.

Background

Dr Gupta completed his primary medical qualification at the University of Delhi in 1997, followed by his MD in Paediatrics at the same university in 2003. He later moved to the UK and pursued his paediatric training in London and the East of England. He became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2007, followed by his Fellowship in 2015. Dr Gupta also holds a Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Medical and Healthcare Education, all from Anglia Ruskin University. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Currently, he is the lead for year 5 medical students at Anglia Ruskin University. Previously he served as the lead for UCL students at Basildon. He firmly believes in the importance of well-structured and student-directed training to ensure safe and effective patient care.
