Thousands preparing to celebrate ARU graduation
More than 5,900 will graduate in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough
More than 5,900 students will cross the stage in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough during July to mark the culmination of their degrees and apprenticeships at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).
Summer 2026 ceremonies begin on Monday, 6 July with eight ceremonies taking place at the historic Cambridge Corn Exchange running through until Wednesday, 8 July. Around 2,600 students from all four ARU faculties; Faculty of Arts, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences; Faculty of Business and Law; Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care; and Faculty of Science and Engineering, will cross the stage.
ARU Peterborough will hold its graduation ceremony on Thursday, 9 July at the city’s spectacular cathedral where students from ARU Peterborough’s wide range of courses and apprenticeships will graduate.
Finally, Chelmsford Cathedral will host 20 ceremonies from Monday, 13 July until Friday, 17 July. Those receiving their degrees will include Medicine students completing their undergraduate degrees on the way to becoming doctors, as well as ARU Writtle students and graduates from other ARU faculties.
Last month, data released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), showed that ARU tops the East of England for graduates landing senior positions – specifically roles as managers, directors and senior officials – and ranks second for those earning £45,000-plus salaries within 15 months of graduating.
“Our summer graduations season is always a joy to be a part of, with so many students and their loved ones coming together in the heart of our communities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough to celebrate their outstanding success.
“As the recent HESA Graduate Outcomes survey has shown, our graduates continue to perform well early in their careers – first in the region and sixth among mainstream universities in England – reflecting the high quality of teaching, industry engagement and professional support across ARU.”
