Petersfield and Chelmsford named in guide to the best places to live in the East

Anglia Ruskin University’s home locations of Petersfield and Chelmsford have been named by a national newspaper as among the best places to live in the East of England.

In the Sunday Times guide to the Best Places to Live 2019, the Cambridge area of Petersfield and Chelmsford were both named among the top ten towns and cities in the East of England. The guide looks at aspects such as schools, amenities and leisure facilities to help buyers find the best places to move to.

Petersfield was praised for its laid-back lifestyle and offering the perfect antidote to Cambridge’s more tourist-focused centre, while Chelmsford was described as a “powerhouse of schooling and shopping”. The guide highlights the presence of Anglia Ruskin in both areas, and mentions the British Science Festival in 2020, which is taking place at the Chelmsford campus.

James Rolfe, Chief Operating Officer at Anglia Ruskin, said:

“We are very proud of the communities in which we are based and it is encouraging to see Petersfield and Chelmsford listed as desirable places to live in by this prestigious guide.

“Our student and staff community contributes to the success of all our home cities, and over the past few years there have been many changes in Petersfield and Cambridge. We can all share a part of the civic pride that is so clearly felt in both these areas, which are great places to live, study and work.”
