New governors at ARU Peterborough and Writtle College
Experienced leaders Dr Amy Parker Dixon and Alex Thomas-Scrine join respective Boards
Two senior leaders with extensive experience in international education and global finance have been appointed as Governors at ARU Peterborough and Writtle College.
Dr Amy Parker Dixon, Chief Revenue Officer at Hudson Global Scholars, has joined the governing body of ARU Peterborough, while Alex Thomas-Scrine, Chief Financial Officer for Strategy & Talent at Standard Chartered Bank, takes up a role as Governor at Writtle College.
Dr Amy Parker Dixon brings more than 15 years of international leadership experience spanning global education, commercial strategy and institutional partnerships. In her current role with Hudson Global Scholars, she leads the organisation's global revenue strategy and oversees international partnerships across more than 25 countries.
Before joining Hudson Global Scholars, she held senior leadership positions with the International Baccalaureate, Education Development Trust, Cambridge Education Group and Cambridge International Examinations, working with governments, ministries of education, school systems and universities around the world. Dr Parker Dixon holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow and has completed executive education at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
ARU Peterborough, which is a partnership between ARU, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and Peterborough City Council, recently celebrated five years of civic impact. Dr Parker Dixon joins ARU Peterborough’s Board of Governors, chaired by Sir Rob Behrens.

Professor Ross Renton, Principal and Chief Executive of ARU PeterboroughAlex Thomas-Scrine joins the governing body of Writtle College following a distinguished career in financial services. He spent 20 years with Deutsche Bank in London and Frankfurt, holding a number of senior finance and chief operating officer positions, including Chief Financial Officer for Global Technology. Since 2024, he has served as Chief Financial Officer for Strategy & Talent at Standard Chartered Bank.
Originally from Wales and now living in Ingatestone, Alex is a passionate advocate for social mobility and widening access to opportunity. He sponsors a flagship programme designed to increase early-career access to financial services and has a strong interest in people development, skills-building and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence in the workplace.

Prinicipal of Writtle College, Philip GrantWrittle College was founded in February 2024 following the merger between ARU and Writtle University College. It has recently published its new strategy for 2026-2030, which focuses on delivering outstanding, innovative, and industry-relevant education that prepares learners for success in a rapidly changing world.
