Anglia Ruskin to provide advice across region during National Apprenticeship Week

Experts from Anglia Ruskin University – one of the largest providers of Degree Apprenticeships in the UK – will be running events and giving talks across the region during NAW2018, the National Apprenticeship Week.

Anglia Ruskin is already working with 74 companies and organisations, including the likes of the Welcome Trust Sanger Institute, Thales, Barclays, and Cambridge University Hospitals, and providing degree apprenticeship training to almost 500 people.

Degree apprenticeships are a collaboration between employers, apprentices and universities, allowing employers to develop the skills of their existing workforce.

To fund the training businesses and organisations can take advantage of the government’s Apprenticeship Levy, while employees are able to learn while they earn and complete their studies with an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification.

And to mark National Apprenticeship Week, running from 5-9 March, Anglia Ruskin will be hitting the road to explain more about how degree apprenticeships can make a difference to organisations, individuals and the economy as a whole.

During the week staff will be at Southend University Hospital, Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital to discuss and promote our Assistant Practitioner Higher Apprenticeship.

And on Friday, 9 March, Anglia Ruskin’s Marc Rothera will be talking at the Apprenticeships Work event, organised by Enterprise East Cambridgeshire, which is taking place in Ely.

Tom Taylor, Head of Degrees at Work at Anglia Ruskin University, said:

“Degree apprenticeships are one of the most exciting innovations in Higher Education in decades and we’re proud to be leading the way, working with a wide range of employers spanning SMEs to large international organisations.  In fact Anglia Ruskin’s very first Degree Apprenticeship scheme was our award-winning collaboration with Barclays.

“We’re delighted to be supporting National Apprenticeship Week by helping to spread the word about the importance of upskilling our workforce and the various exciting opportunities available to organisations and their employees.”
