Lecturer receives diploma for her contribution to perioperative practice
A senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University has become the first person to receive a Fellowship of the Faculty of Perioperative Care at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, in recognition for her contribution to surgical care.“From a very early age, I had an unwavering ambition to be a nurse. Once I started my training and set foot inside an operating theatre, I knew this was the specialist area for me.
“The opportunities offered as course leader for the MSc Surgical Practice at Anglia Ruskin University have enabled me to share my love of the Surgical Care Practitioner role with a wide cross-section of students.
“Receiving my diploma award at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh was profoundly moving. Few people are able to realise their life’s ambitions as fully as I have done. My involvement with the Faculty of Perioperative Care of the RCS has greatly contributed to this and I feel privileged to be the first person to be awarded a Fellowship of the Faculty.”
