Enjoy fun and free activities at Community Day
ARU Peterborough opens its doors for packed day of interactive events

Residents across Peterborough are invited to enjoy a day of free family entertainment as ARU Peterborough opens its doors for its annual Community Day on Saturday (15 August).
The event, which takes place between 10am and 2pm, will transform the ARU Peterborough campus on Bishop’s Road into a hub of interactive activities, hands-on experiences and exciting attractions for all ages.
Among the highlights will be the popular miniature railway, offering visitors a unique way to explore the campus, alongside a climbing wall, high-flying bungee trampolines, and a drone challenge where participants can test their flying skills.
Animal lovers will have the chance to get up close to a variety of creatures, including rabbits, snakes and lizards, during the Animal Experience, while budding scientists can enjoy Fizz Pop Science shows and hands-on science activities aimed at inspiring curiosity and learning.
Visitors can also journey through space in the immersive Planetarium, while other attractions include virtual reality experiences, robotics demonstrations, flight simulators, giant bubble displays, street art, fitness challenges and even an appearance from a seven-foot roaming robot.
ARU Peterborough’s expert staff will also be utilising the campus’s state-of-the-art facilities for family friendly activities such as charting the history of gaming, or exploring VR technology.

However, some activities, including the Planetarium and some science experiences, have limited spaces and require booking on the day at the relevant activity locations.
The event takes place at ARU Peterborough’s campus on Bishop’s Road with parking available nearby at Bishop’s Road car park. Refreshments will also be available from a variety food and drink stalls throughout the day.
