ARU Peterborough is hosting a vibrant Community Day on Saturday, 16 August packed with fun, learning, and discovery for all ages.

During the annual event, visitors can explore hands-on activities across health, science, and technology – from nursing and midwifery demonstrations to biomedical science and virtual reality experiences.

Outdoor highlights include a climbing wall, fairground games, foot darts, and the ever-popular roaming robot Copperbot. Families can enjoy live music, balloon modelling, and treats from local food vendors.

Inside the award-winning buildings, guests can take part in immersive experiences like a planetarium, a Green Power Pit Stop challenge race simulator, and interactive science shows, while younger visitors can enjoy face painting and dance machines.

With applications still open for September starts, staff and students will also be on hand to talk about a wide range of courses available at ARU Peterborough, should visitors be interested in finding out more about going to university.

“As a university rooted in our community, events like this are a chance for people in the city and beyond to find out more about what we do.

“There is something for everyone, whether you are interested in going to university, eager to try the Green Power Pit Stop Challenge, or simply looking for an enjoyable day out.”

Professor Ross Renton, Principal of ARU Peterborough
