Born in Germany in 1942 and educated at the Freie Universitaet in Berlin, Michael Tolksdorf was the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Hochschule fur Wirtschaft und Recht (HWR) Berlin. He had served as advisor to the German anti-trust commission and was a Member of the House of Representatives in Berlin. As Pro Vice-Chancellor at HWR he had played a key role in the development of Anglia Ruskin's MBA programmes at the school.
In 2002 Professor Dr Michael Tolksdorf was made an Honorary Fellow of the University.
"The Senate of the University is pleased to award the title of Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to the Development of purposive collaboration between Anglia Polytechnic University and the Fachhochschule fur Wirtschaft, Berlin, of which he is Pro Vice-Chancellor, especially in the development of five Anglia MBA programmes in Berlin. Professor Tolksdorf has served the franchised MBA of Anglia Business School at FhW Berlin as Course Leader for five years. During this period he has carried out the responsibility in an exemplary manner and maximized the development opportunities to those students taking their MBA at FhW. His enthusiasm and ideas on how to run the MBA at home has in turn benefited the MBA at all its European out-centres."
