Chelmsford Science Festival: Year 12 students day

We're excited to offer three engaging, educational events for schools and colleges, as part of the Chelmsford Science Festival.

Year 12 students are welcome to ARU in Chelmsford on Thursday 23 October.

There are also events for Year 9 students in Writtle, and Year 10 students in Chelmsford.

Aim of the day

  • Explore career paths: discover careers in science and technology through interactive sessions and workshops.
  • Understand employment opportunities: learn about the skills and qualifications needed for different roles and how to pursue them.
  • Connect with higher education: experience university life and understand the pathways to higher education.

Our activities are designed to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance, with students receive high-quality information and experiences.

What to expect

  • Lecture-style session: kick off the day with a captivating headline act that will spark curiosity and excitement.
  • Seminar-style session: take part in interactive workshops led by experts in various fields of science.
  • Campus tour: explore our campus through a fun and educational scavenger hunt, designed to familiarise students with the university environment.
  • Hands-on activities: experiment and discover the wonders of science in our Festival area.
