How old are you—really? While chronological age is simply the number of years since birth, biological age reflects the true condition of our bodies and minds, shaped by lifestyle, genetics, and environment. Yet, in society and under the law, chronological age is often used as a marker for rights, responsibilities, and access to services.
This interactive workshop explores the legal implications of aging and the challenges posed by age-based classifications. We will examine how current legal frameworks may reinforce ageism—discrimination based on age—and whether they adequately reflect the diverse realities of aging.
