This panel event will explore the latest science and knowledge on marathon running and training. The panel will focus on the principles of marathon training and how to maximise your training results. The event will cover the use and application of scientific data and how this can be monitored remotely. You’ll also gain tips on how to pace your marathon successfully. Finally, we will look at what happens when it all goes wrong and why runners ‘stop’. Additionally, the audience will learn how science is driving marathon knowledge forward from elite to recreational runners.
This event will be a series of short talks using interactive examples followed by a panel discussion and audience participation through a Q&A session.
