Engage: annual learning and teaching conference

Our Annual Learning and Teaching Conference, Engage, is an opportunity to showcase and explore our learning, teaching and assessment-related activities to further enhance our student learning experience.

Engage is open to all colleagues across the University and our intention is for it to be a day of inspiration, connection, and creativity. Engage 2026 will take place on Tuesday 23 June on our Chelmsford campus - register now on Business World, the course code is L&TC.

We’re delighted to invite staff and students to submit proposals for Engage 2026, Anglia Learning & Teaching’s annual conference celebrating innovation in learning and teaching at ARU. 
This year we will be focusing on our new University Strategy, and the emerging Education aims and opportunities. We’ll therefore be looking at future-facing approaches: what do we want to celebrate and take forward for our next 10 years? 
Building on the success of previous years, Engage 2026 continues our collaborative approach by welcoming anyone involved in learning and teaching regardless of role. We warmly encourage proposals from staff, students, and staff–student teams.  
If you are involved in learning, teaching, or enhancing the student experience and have ideas, practices, or insights to share, we would love to hear from you.  
Submit your proposal by completing the online form (login required).
Deadline: Friday 24 April 2026 
Session formats  
We are looking for interactive and engaging sessions, including:  
•    45-minute active workshops, or  
•    15 minute short ‘inspirations’ (talk or a mini keynote) 
•    A table lead in our future-facing ‘world cafe’: what topic or challenge will you pose to engage your table on future development of our L&T approach? 
All submissions will be reviewed through our active and inclusive learning lens and assessed through a peer-review process supported by our Advance HE Senior Fellows.
