Background

Jason is the Media Specialist for Anglia Learning & Teaching. He generates media for our department, including filming conferences and seminars, editing, taking photographs and collaborating with our team. For example, he helped colleagues with filming and editing videos for the Good Teaching Toolkit.

Jason delivers staff development, including face-to-face, one-to-one, group, and online training. He creates and leads online courses such as Open Educational Resources in 15 minutes and Copyright in HE and Canvas. He also delivers Teaching Room Technologies in collaboration with IT Services. He works on learning, teaching and assessment projects and is currently leading on 5/10/15 Minutes of Digital Literacy.

Jason creates video tutorials on software use and gives advice on technologies such as Lecture Capture and streaming. He acts as a liaison between staff members and IT services, offering tailored advice. He also identifies issues and trends which may have a broad impact in areas of our online LTA practice. He does this by visiting other universities and units.

Previously Jason worked for IT Services delivering staff development in all aspects of the student admin system, and assessment and awards. He ran the assessment panels and awards boards for Humanities and Arts and the cross-university awards board. He joined Anglia Ruskin in 1996 and worked in data entry. He then moved into training, teaching people how to input data into a new admin system.
