University alerts

Red weather warning – extreme heat (24–25 June)

A Met Office red heat warning is in place. There is a high risk of heat-related illness and potential disruption to services, including public transport.

Our campuses remain open, with a flexible approach to attendance.

Do not travel to campus if you have an underlying health condition, are more vulnerable to the effects of heat, or are reliant on public transport.

If you are attending campus:

  • stay hydrated – water is available across sites
  • use cooler or well‑ventilated spaces
  • take regular breaks and avoid prolonged exposure to heat.

We are working to ensure that teaching, support and key activities continue safely.

Further guidance for staff and students is available on MyARU / MyWi and The Heron.
