Joanne is a seasoned practitioner in the skills sector, dedicating her full-time efforts to the Essex Chambers of Commerce as the Executive Director of the Local Skills Improvement Plan. With a long career spanning 27 years across both public and private sectors, she has previously served as the Director of Apprenticeships at South Essex College Group.
Joanne holds current positions as Chair of the Essex Skills Board, Co-Chair of the Inclusive Stakeholder Alliance, and member of the Education Task Force in Essex. Her current role places her at the forefront of skills policy in Essex, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the further education and skills provision available in the county.
Beginning her journey in 1998 as a recruitment consultant for a local independent training provider, Joanne has since held various significant roles, including Regional Manager, Traineeship Director, Apprenticeship Director, and Sales Director for Haddon Training, a national provider specialising in equine apprenticeship training.
Joanne's passion for education and creating pathways for all is evident in her work. As an Essex individual who has experienced the local education system firsthand, along with her three children, she is deeply committed to improving and contributing to the system in every possible way.
