First you'll focus on business sustainability, scope and organisational structure in the hospitality sector.
Explore the design, direction, and control of facilities, processes, and activities required to deliver quality service, and identify the importance of a business’s approach to long-term success from dedication to customer satisfaction. Look at performance contributions from human resources, operations scheduling, quality control, service supply relations, as well as economic concepts, accounting principles, and mathematics. Develop employability skills through learning methods such as critical thinking and group work.
You’ll identify how different customer service functions create and sustain advantages over the competition. Explore the role of HR management in the strategic planning and development of domestic and multinational organisations, as well as the role that marketing plays in implementing and controlling planning processes at domestic and international levels. Evaluate alternative approaches in marketing, looking at short- and long-term organisation and market demands. Apply theoretical business development concepts and models to hospitality practice, and examine the unique characteristics of its products and services.
Evaluate an organisation's situation, analysis, strategic alternatives, and implementation and evaluation of their strategic plan. Examine environmentally, economically and socio-culturally sustainable and ethical tourism, and assesses the possibilities and limitations for its implementation in a variety of settings. Develop an understanding of global factors that impact the industries, evaluating several topics through research, case studies and collaboration.
