Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller History Month Cambridge Campus Visit

A green banner with the text "we're celebrating gypsy, roma and traveller history month 2024"
Join our Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month campus visits at our campuses in June. The day will include interactive sessions, dedicated time to explore our campuses, and students will meet current university students.

The visits are open to students identifying as part of the Gypsy, Roma or Traveller communities in Years 7 to 11 and their teachers and advisors, alongside a buddy to attend on the day as support whilst they also learn and experience the day.

Visits are on

Cambridge - 19 June
Peterborough - 20 June
Chelmsford - 27 June

Register your interest by emailing [email protected], letting us know how many students you'd like to bring with you and what campus you’d like to attend. We will then be in touch with more information about the event.

Since 2008 June marks Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller History Month in the UK. The month aims to tackle prejudice, dispel myths, and amplify the voices of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities in society through celebration, education and awareness raising. As a signatory of the Gypsies, Travellers, Roma, Showmen and Boaters (GTRSB) into Higher Education Pledge, ARU is dedicated to continuing to create a welcoming, inclusive environment to current and prospective students, alongside staff who identify as any of the communities grouped under the GTRSB banner.
