Free event to help businesses navigate 2023
IoD’s Chief Economist will deliver a keynote speech at ARU Peterborough
ARU Peterborough is bringing together some of the UK’s leading experts to help local business owners navigate the year ahead.
The free event, Support for Business to Survive and Thrive in 2023, will take place at the city’s new university on Wednesday, 1 March.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Kitty Ussher, the Chief Economist at the Institute of Directors (IoD). The former MP and Treasury Minister will share insights into the state of the economy and her predictions ahead of the Spring Budget.
In addition to the IoD, the event is being supported by the Federation of Small Businesses, the CBI, Metro Bank, Growth Works, Make UK, the Entrepreneurs Circle, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Growth Works will discuss how businesses can access revenue and capital grant funding in the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire region, while ARU Peterborough will share details of the Government-funded Help to Grow course for senior managers and leaders, as well as the university’s Degree Apprenticeship programmes and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
Dr Tom Williamson, Assistant Principal at ARU Peterborough, said:
“Attendees will be able to access a whole range of advice and support from organisations from across the region, including from experts here at ARU Peterborough, helping businesses that might be struggling in the current economic climate, as well as those looking to grow.
“This free evening event should be of interest to all local businesses to help them better understand the opportunities and uncertainties that may affect them over the year ahead.”
ARU Peterborough is a partnership between Anglia Ruskin University, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, and Peterborough City Council.
