You can make a difference. Study at ARU Writtle and learn how person-centred care can increase health and wellbeing within our communities.
The UK is experiencing increased demand for local health and care services. In many cases, the focus is turning to prevention, bringing opportunities for new professional roles, such as social prescribing link workers, health and wellbeing coaches, and community-based therapists.
ARU Writtle connects curriculum, community work and commercial health enterprise within our newly renovated Centre of Sport and Health. On our undergraduate Health, Wellbeing and Community degree course, you'll develop skills and knowledge relevant to a rapidly growing sector, find out what it's really like to work in the field, and benefit from our strong links with key employers.
"I’m really excited about this new course around social prescribing ... people have dignity and value in themselves and, by referring them through social prescribing, we can give them that value."
Dr Sanjeev RanaGP
"The exciting thing about the degree is that it’s really going to be focused on what’s happening in our communities, involving people who are working in communities, and developing real life situations."
Simon PrestneyNHS Senior Manager, Primary Care Transformation
"Looking after yourself socially, emotionally, mentally; these are the things that really drive health and drive away certain preventable long-term conditions ... That’s what this course is all about."
Dr Jen WestGP
