My name is Laura Navia and I am an International Student from Colombia who was awarded with the Scholarship for Women in STEM By the British Council 23/24.

I have a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a specialization in Quality Management. I have over 6 years of experience working in the public sector in Colombia as a quality analyst, where I implemented ISO 9001:2018 standards and the Planning Model and Integrated Management System for Public Services. Throughout these years, I gained knowledge about public service management and recognized the significance of my profession in this field. I discovered my passion for serving others and contributing to the progress of my community.

During my free time, I enjoy learning different languages. Currently, I am proficient in English and Italian, and I am currently learning Korean.

My journey to ARU began with the application for the Scholarship. Pursuing a postgraduate degree will allow me to explore various aspects that differ from my undergraduate studies. The core modules offered align perfectly with my engineering background and provide valuable training for a future managerial role. Additionally, this experience is giving me the opportunity to live in a foreign country and immerse myself in a new culture.
