Using Flipgrid for Learning and Teaching

Microsoft’s video platform Flipgrid is currently being promoted for use by staff at Anglia Ruskin University, following successful LTI testing.

The online video discussion platform is free to use, accessible through an ARU account and lets users create and share videos.

Jamie Heywood, Academic Developer, Anglia Learning and Teaching (AL&T), said: “Flipgrid is an exciting platform which can be used for engagement, sharing work and enhancing community and social presence. As a social learning platform with good accessibility features, Flipgrid can contribute towards active, inclusive, and collaborative teaching and learning.

“Flipgrid testing has now finished with a successful outcome. Its LTI was tested in the Canvas test environment and then the live environment, with support from IT Services and the LMS product manager.”

Jamie has also written a blog about the benefits of video sharing platforms in learning and teaching
