The Active Learning Network’s (ALN) Global Festival of Active Learning, taking place online free of charge next month, is now open for booking.

Deputy Head of Anglia Learning and Teaching (AL&T) Andrew Middleton says: “The aim of the ALN’s inaugural festival is to celebrate creativity in teaching and learning through innovative uses of learning technology.

“There will be the opportunity for both staff and students to share, collaborate, listen, and network with others interested in active teaching and learning.

“Our involvement in the festival demonstrates Anglia Ruskin’s commitment to leading innovation in the development of student-centred active pedagogies.

“Contributions from a number of key academic staff at ARU, including myself, will provide insight to the open and creative thinking behind methods designed to engage all of our students in relevant and inspiring challenges.”

A variety of creative workshops and presentations will take place from 19-23 April, such as a virtual escape room, an open studio and a virtual campfire. The festival is set to run for two hours each day, with morning sessions from 9am-10am and twilight spots from 5pm-6pm.

Members from AL&T who will be presenting alongside Andrew are Academic Developer for Ruskin Modules Dr Beatriz Acevedo, Academic Lead: Active Inclusive Learning Dr Isobel Gowers and Academic Developer Jamie Heywood.
