Arise is connecting MedTech innovators with NHS healthcare leaders

Arise and ARU are connecting medical innovators at Princess Alexandra Hospital with business and opportunities to support their innovation journey, through events at the hospital and support through the Arise Innovation hub in Harlow.

Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow has been confirmed  for a new state-of-the-art hospital for Harlow to replace the ageing Princess Alexandra Hospital, following a review of its New Hospital Programme (NHP). Construction of the proposed new hospital is likely to begin in 2032.

As part of the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust’s PAHT30 strategy the Trust is working with ARU’s Arise Innovation Hubs by linking MedTech entrepreneurs and ARU’s own innovation support, with hospital staff and leaders.

A recent networking event, Bringing Innovation to PAHT, brought clinical professionals and innovative local and UK businesses together to discuss current and future needs and build wider partnerships.

The event was opened by Michael Meredith, Chief Strategy Officer at PAHT, who spoke about the importance of bringing innovation to the hospital for the benefit of patients and the communities it serves. Mr Meredith said: “Our PAHT2030 strategy is to be modern, integrated and outstanding and the need for innovation in healthcare is now.

“Thank you to ARU Arise Innovation Hubs and the entrepreneurial innovators who joined us at the event, giving our staff the opportunity to find out more about technologies being developed to help improve patient care.”

Anglia Ruskin University’s Arise innovation Hubs work directly with industry and local stakeholders supporting the healthcare sector and contributing to economic growth.

Arise is a partnership between ARU and Essex County Council with support from Chelmsford City Council and Harlow Council.
