Dr Mareike Posner is Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science (Immunology & Pathology) at ARU. She is protein biochemist with an interest in applied sciences, and a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.

Background

Mareike joined Anglia Ruskin in February 2023 and is an active researcher in the area of protein biochemistry and the application of proteins in medicine and biotechnology.

Research interests

Using biochemical and structural approaches, Mareike studies the structure-function relationship of proteins of medical and biotechnological importance. Current projects include:

  • Multimerin-1, a platelet protein
  • HACE1
  • Plastic degrading enzymes
  • Marieke engages in educational research projects including the use of H5P and problem-based learning in enhancing delivery and student learning.

Mareike welcomes applications from potential PhD students in the research areas listed above.
