Professional Portfolio (Gaming)

This is a pass/fail module, and it does not affect your progression from level 5 to level 6 on your course. This module relates to gaming students following full-time placement degree programmes and is designed to cover a learning period of 38 weeks. For trimester 1 starts (September), you will commence your placement at any point from 1st July until 30th September. For Trimester 2 (January) starts, you will commence their placement at any point between 1st February and 31st March. The module is designed to give you an opportunity to analyse and evaluate Industrial organisational structures, industrial roles and functions and industrial self-awareness. It covers human relationships, team relationships, problem evaluations, solutions and analysis and an evaluation of an industry/business sector. The aim of the module is to allow the you to use the academic skills developed during your first two years of university study to support the learning during your work placement. The module aims to provide the you with experience of work in an Industry and/or business environment including familiarisation with a professional work environment. The module will be underpinned by employability skills training, reflective assessment and support from academic tutors. You will be expected to be able to reflect on your experience orally and in writing and demonstrate how you have applied theory and learning to date within a work-based environment.
