This is a pass/fail module and it does not affect your progression from level 5 to level 6 on your course. This module relates to students following F/T sandwich placement degree programmes and is designed to cover a learning period of 38 weeks. For TRI1 starts (Sept), students commence their placement at any point from 1st July until 30th September. The module is designed to give students an opportunity to analyse and evaluate Industrial organisational structures, industrial roles and functions and industrial self-awareness. It covers human relationships, team relationships, problem evaluations, solutions and analysis and an evaluation of an industry/business sector. The aim of the module is to allow the student to use the academic skills developed during their first two years of university study to support the learning during their work placement. The module aims to provide the student with experience of work in an industry and/or business environment including familiarisation with a professional work environment. The module will be underpinned by employability skills training, reflective assessment and support from academic tutors. Students will be expected to be able to reflect on their experience orally and in writing, and demonstrate how they have applied theory and learning to date within a work-based environment.
