Our men’s basketball team has become one of the most successful teams within all of ARU sport.
They compete in both British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and National Basketball League (NBL) competition.
In 2019/20 the BUCS team went 10 – 0 to win the league and gain promotion to tier 1. In NBL Division 3, they had their best ever season finishing runners-up with a 9-4 record and were set for a play-off place until the COVID-19 pandemic caused a premature halt to proceedings.
Our women’s team compete in both British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) competition. They won numerous National Titles in recent years and continue to be successful. [add some titles from recent years]
Our Sport Scholarship is designed to support talented athletes during their time at ARU.
There are two levels of scholarship, ranging from £1,400 up to £12,500 per year.
Offered to students who are of an international standard and can successfully compete at the highest level of university sport and above, this scholarship is worth up to £12,500 per year. It is given as a full or partial fee waiver.
Elite levelWe offer scholarships of £1,400 per year to cover performance-related costs for students who compete at regional or national level. It is given as a cash bursary.
