Chelmsford Science Festival returns for a dynamic celebration of ideas, creativity and discovery.

This year's Festival explores the theme Future Worlds: Earth, Space, You. It features exciting events across science, technology, engineering, health, the environment and the arts.

The 2026 Chelmsford Science Festival is bringing even more events to the city. Bookings are now open for selected events including our paid ticketed headliners. These help expand free science experiences across Chelmsford. They enable us to bring nationally recognised speakers to the city at affordable prices, with 10% of tickets reserved for those facing financial, social or access barriers through trusted community partners. Any surplus is reinvested into the Festival and its activities.

New for this year, Playable Worlds is is the Chelmsford Science Festival fringe programme exploring the future of gaming, creative technology and digital careers. Through hands-on workshops, interactive events and community activities across the city, visitors can discover how games are designed, develop new skills and explore pathways into the creative industries.
