As part of its events calendar, on 25 April REACTOR hosted a Big Gamification Pitch event at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Cambridge. The day-long Pitch saw seven competitors refine their concepts, develop their business, financial, and marketing plans, and hone their presentations, before taking to the floor for an afternoon of competitive live pitching.
The event was won by the entrepreneur behind TeamMetrics, a reporting tool to help companies improve productivity, who was selected from an impressive judging panel that included entrepreneurs and venture capitalists Richard Leaver, Professor Alan Barrell and Jeremy Sosabowski. The judges praised participants for their innovative ideas, which included a critical thinking learning tool for students and an Alzheimer’s gamification app that aims to re-stimulate memories and support social welfare.
Jan Storgårds, REACTOR Project Director, said: “There was much deliberation over who should be crowned the winner of this year’s Pitch; the TeamMetrics concept was very well presented and the business plan is one that could be put into operation tomorrow."
Following the results of the Pitch event, REACTOR is approaching the end of season Showcase event, at which participants will present their work to investors, the public and members of the local technology and innovation cluster.
The Showcase event will be held at Cambridge Junction on Thursday 20 June.
